Fire Protection Plans Reviewer & Inspector
Description
This position is for an experienced person who can perform in depth reviews and inspections of fire protection, detection and alarm systems. They will be performing the work on various types of projects. It requires a person who has ICC or NFPA certification in type of work they will be performing.
The person in this position will be performing reviews and inspections on a wide range of projects from tenant finishes to entire buildings. A person who can review other disciplines will be a plus.
Job Responsibilities
Review construction plans for conformity to Fire Safety codes.
Provide municipal and private industry code research and reports as assigned.
Attend project meetings about plan reviews or inspections.
Meet with clients and prospective clients as assigned.
Performs special plan reviews and inspections as assigned.
Answer code questions and inquiries in writing and over the telephone.
Answer inquiries about plan reviews and inspections performed.
Perform commercial, industrial and residential mechanical and energy inspections.
Explain and interpret regulations, guidelines, standards and criteria to design professionals, contractors, owners and other interested parties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Three years of progressive responsible technical experience in a position requiring the application of fire safety design or code knowledge.
Current ICC certification or ability to obtain within 6 months, or Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Engineering or Architecture.
Other relevant work experience related to mechanical/energy construction and design may be considered.
Multi-tasking ability, flexibility and capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
Basic computer skills.
Valid, state-issued driver’s license
